Next Week: The Queen of Hoxton and The Flag in Watford

by Subset on March 12, 2010

Another busy week for the Subset crew next week.

As you probably read, they’ve been asked to kick off a night organised by One Man Melt at the Queen of Hoxton.

Subset will be warming up the crowd before The Vortex (Bonehead’s band after ditching Oasis) hits the stage.  Following The Vortex are headliners Buster Shuffle.  The East End ska crew are loved by Frank Black (The Pixies) and were specifically asked to play the Monkey: Journey to the West wrap party by Damon Albarn.

So, quite an important and fun night ahead for Subset on Thursday – read more about this gig and see videos released by all the bands here :)

You can buy advanced tickets for £5 from here or just let us know if you’re going as we’ve arranged a sneaky £5 door list  - otherwise it’ll cost you £8 on the night or £4 NSU ;)

Saturday 20th sees the band traveling to Watford to headline the finals of the Hertfordshire battle of the bands at the request of the organisers, Majick Music Group.

The guys have played The Flag in Watford before and are glad of the opportunity to return, especially for this event as it’s bound to be packed.

If you’ve never been to The Flag, Watford’s largest live music venue, it’s right next to Watford Junction station so really easy to get to should you live outside the area.  Just look at the picture – that’s The Flag in the background. This is why I’m not even bothering with a map ;)

The proud finalists that have battled through the rounds are:

  • The Terror
  • Efferus
  • Polly Poison
  • Her Electric Antidote
  • Ricochet
  • Torque

Subset wish them all the best of luck and have shared the bill with a few of these bands before – it’s a shame that only one band can win.
