It all starts this week Subsetters!

The lads kick-off their ‘You Will Never Make it Back Home’ tour this Friday by returning to the fabulous 93 Feet East on London’s Brick Lane.

They follow Raven beats Crow and Volitains on stage and will be warming the stage up for Lyrebirds and Zebedy Rays.

LYREBIRDS: After touring with The Maccabees and performing on grand stages including Brixton Academy, the Lyrebirds felt right at home with their ‘Post-Joy-Division-80’s-Raincoat-Pop’ sound; it’s plain to see that these guys are going places.
“Brighton’s Newest Stadium Heroes.. .. Big sound, big gigs, big friends. Next up, the big time.” Brighton Source

ZEBEDY RAYS: Hailing from Worcestershire, these guys are an intense new band, set to be unleashed on the UK indie scene. Their ‘Dirty guitar riffs’ and blazing stage presence is simply bursting at the seams, and having worked alongside the infamous Paul Tipler, known for his work with Idlewild, 80s Matchbox and Forward Russia, you are clearly in for a treat.
“BRILLIANT!!” Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1

The tour (at the moment) is made up of 11 dates which have the boys dropping in on renowned venues such as Bedford Esquires, The Horn in St Albans and of course 93 Feet East. They even have a couple of outdoor festivals squeezed in there – The Love Music/Hate Racism bash in Luton and the Dunstable Music Festival.

There’s a very important gig on Wednesday 4th AugustSubset are playing The Purple Turtle in Camden. This is the semi-final of the Surface Unsigned competition and if they get through this one they’ll score a place at the Regional Showcase – after that is the finals at the O2 Arena!!!

So it’s definitely time to show your support, just as many of you already have to get Subset this far! Grab a ticket from one of the fellas or click the PayPal button on the right and they’ll send you your ticket.

If you aren’t on the mailing list the dates are all noted for you on the map on the right.

Everyone at Subset HQ are looking forward to seeing you out on the road – many of these gigs will be filmed by Subset’s assigned stalker Pepa. Say hi and give her a Subsetter welcome :)

See you soon!

We hope that you’ve all made good use of the glorious weather this weekend. We managed to get a few hours drinking outside before hiding away in a studio to record some new ideas.

Hopefully the weather will continue to behave itself as we have not one, not two – but three shows for you this week!

The weekend will kick off on Thursday when we hit the i-Bar in Whetstone. This place has a decent stage, a great PA and great soundguys so we should sound even better than usual ;)

The next day, the one everyone works towards: Friday – we’re on stage at the Nag’s Head in High Wycombe. This a new one for us but it has some great history. This place has seen everyone from John Lee Hooker and Howlin Wolf to The Who and The Sex Pistols play on their stage. If you can make it we’d love to see some familiar faces :)

Finally we’re with the MMG Hi-Jack team at The Peacock in St. Albans. It’s free to get in, it’s a Saturday and there’s The Aribitors and Friends of the Family joining us on the line up. To us this sounds like a recipe for a decent Saturday evening :)

Here’s how to get there and stuff :)

Don’t let the pic below confuse you – it’s been called the Peacock, then O’Neills Bar and then back to the Peacock again apparently ;)

We’re all looking forward to seeing you at some point this weekend :)
