SUBSET in Nude Calendar Support Shocker!

by Subset on December 2, 2010

Greetings snow-bound SUBSETTER’s!

As we survey the icy tundra of darkest North West London from our secret bunker it warms our very cockles to know that the lads have been selected for another achievement.

The fuzzy foursome have found themselves on the front page of The Indie so that’s a pretty good way to start the last month of the year isn’t it?

It has been a very fast but very good year for SUBSET as they’ve had a lot of good press as well as a decent amount of airplay in 2010 including BBC Radio 6 Music and a BBC live session. Not bad for their first full year together. Anyhow – it’s not time for an end of year round up just yet! ;)

The Fuzztastic Four are out and about again this weekend starting with a jaunt to Newport Pagnell on Friday 3rd to celebrate a nudie calendar release! Yeah – nakedness and SUBSET seem to go together somehow and the guys couldn’t turn down the opportunity to join in the rawkusness at The Cannon. A ‘making of’ the calendar can be watched and enjoyed by clicking here.

Others on the bill at The Cannon are: TrashMonkey, Project Noise and HARDFINGER! The calendar is to raise cash to keep this venue going so it’s to support live music which SUBSET are totally behind – obviously. The Facebook event page is here.

On Saturday they return to The Flag in Watford where MMG have put together another full line up to enjoy for free! The boys will be joined by Who Shot Cupid, Ell Kendall and Shellshock. Click here for the FB events page.

in other news – the SellaBand shares are still going well:

Feel free to buy another share instead of sending the quirky quartet a Christmas card ;)

So here’s where you can find The Cannon:

OI-OI SUBSETTER’s!

We hope that you’re keeping warm – we’re huddled around a single-bar electric heater hugging Pot Noodles for warmth!

The lads are having to brave the outdoors this week and the first outing is a Children in Need extravaganza at Luton’s Hat Factory!

They will be joined by Friends of the Family, The Nimblewits, Paul Harley-Rose & [dweeb]. It’s a fiver which works out at a quid per band but, as this is for charity, none of the cash is going to the promoter (PDM) or any of the bands. 100% of the money is going to Children in Need – just as it should do!

Doors open at 7pm with the 1st band hitting the stage at 7.30.

The Facebook event page is here.

The Hat Factory could not be any closer to the station…….

Lookey here:

The main news is the new single!

Yup, the fuzztastic four have another release on the way and it goes by the name of ‘On The Back of a Car’.

The groovy tune will be celebrated by way of a gig and drinking session at the famous Monto Water Rats in Kings Cross!

Also on the bill are: Promise of Tomorrow, Encounters, Dead Cloth, HORSEMAN SHAKES & THE DRAYMEN, and Me, John and the Drummer.

The guys have managed to secure the central slot (9:30pm) so that they can have a drink (or 5) with you all and generally hang out and be silly ;)

The ticket prices should be £8 but if you sling your name down on the Facebook event page here they’ll get you in for £6 as long as you get there before 7:30pm!

There will be some limited edition versions of the single for sale on the night so track down the merch stall early to avoid disappointment!

Not forgetting that Saturday is also party night for Arran and Tracy!

Tracy has her birthday on the Friday and Arran gets his candles out on the actual Saturday night! We at SUBSET HQ are honoured that these SUBSETTER’s have chosen to share the celebrations with the band! Let’s make it a top bash!

Here’s where the Water Rats is :)
