Although the tour has officially ended that doesn’t mean that the lads are getting much rest.

Tomorrow (Friday) sees, or rather hears, the Fuzztastic Four play live on air on the BBC Introducing show. You can hear them be interviewed, jam out a few songs and one of them will be racing around the studio on a kids tricycle in the famed ‘Band on a Bike’ slot.

You should be able to watch them in the BBC studio on Band Cam!

The following night is the moment you’ve all been waiting for.

Somewhere between 7pm and 10pm (we’ll know the exact slot on Saturday morning so be sure to check the Facebook update at Facebook.com/Subsetband) the guys will be vying for a place at the National Final held at the O2!

They boys still have a few tickets left (£7 instead of £9 or there’s a 3 for £18 deal) so you can be there at The Dome, 178 Junction Road, Tufnell Park, London – just across from the tube station ;)

If you can’t be there please text as many times as you can.

Just send: SOUTH 5199 to 64343

Let’s get this real, honest slab of fuzz rock through to gig at the O2!

It’s up to you now Subsetters!

See you at the bar.

SUBSET Reflect on Their First Tour

by Subset on September 2, 2010

Hey ho Subsetters!

The lads have finally managed to grab a few moments to reflect on their most memorable moments of the ‘You Will Never Make it Back Home Tour 2010′.

Some of you were there and witnessed these first hand and some of you may already be familiar with the tales.

Either way SUBSET HQ thought you Subsetters might be interested in this candid snap shot of what it’s like to be a member of this particular fuzz rock foursome that spends most of their time on trains, trying to figure out GPS when they’re fortunate enough to get a ride in a car and the dangers of sharing rooms with mad felines.

Here’s a quick list in no particular order:

  1. Watching Rob going bonkers with the sat-nav with Steve wondering wtf is going on as the TomTom repeatedly orders us to do a u-turn on the motorway
  2. Rom’s tonsilitis and wisdom tooth crisis before the Dunstable Festival and watching him get on stage shaking stuffed with drugs and tablets
  3. Doing newly synthesised MDPD in the train with a dude called “The Doc”
  4. A huge Rainbow in High Wycombe above the Nag’s Head before hitting the stage
  5. Hearing the news that a guy got stabbed during the “Love Music Hate Racism” festival in Luton after we played – some people really don’t get the idea
  6. Making it to the Regional Final for the Unsigned Competition. We found out after Steve left so called him up telling him we didnt make it and then screamed our arses off on the phone telling him we actually made it!
  7. Sleeping with neuropsycho cats in High Wycombe crashing at a fan’s place
  8. Jay’s trolley finally got smashed to bits and had to be put out of its misery after dragging it up and down railway station stairs during sprints to catch the last train
  9. Loosing an audience contest against Top Gear on TV while playing in Aylsbury – i.e. 5 dudes were in the venue and preferred watching Clarkson on TV than us live for real
  10. Playing sooo loud on a hippy stage in a cool but way too small venue in Newport Pagnel and scaring middle aged tourists trying to enjoy their cocktails in peace.
  11. Broke Rob’s guitar on stage in Camden but carried on playing and resulting in triple huge deafening feedback problems while performing in front of a judge panel
  12. Cheap Ginsters pasties warmed up at a petrol station managed by a rude Indian dude on the way to St Ives
  13. Watching Jay selling a yellow lighter to a craving crack head in Bricklane for 43p – bargain!
  14. Rob getting nasty food poisoning in Bedford after having the worst kebab on the planet but still managed to get on stage and headbang his way through the set

Well, there you have the highs and oddities (that the lads can remember) of SUBSET’s first tour.

They can’t wait to hit the road again soon :)
